Baseball was and still is my one true love. They say; if you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life. This holds true to when I cover the game I love. It makes it even more special when it’s a group that I work with day in and day out.
Being that I’m a student athlete, delivering an angle from the sport that has been researched, studied and played thoroughly for over 15 years. This angle not only provides a unique look into the game, the different styles of play, but an inside access to players, often not brought to light.
A wide variety of topics will be covered including the transition from college to the minors, from multiple points of view, including, but to limited to, players, coaches, parents, and scouts. The focus is to bring fourth the misconceptions often brought upon the difficult and complex process of being a young professional baseball player in the minor league. In addition to covering these young pro ballers, coverage of the fall workouts of the Seton Hall Pirates baseball team will be included in the SS Blue and White.
This would take a look into the different ways former Pirates have made/paved there way into the world of professional baseball. With the Access and knowledge of the game, we can also take a look into my journey trying to do what some of the greatest college baseball players and even great major league players once went through, delivering the news of what is going on with the Current Pirates, and Former Pirates in the Pros.
I am a lifelong athlete and sports fan turned media member. I’ve covered college athletics at Seton Hall, as well as professional events with organizations like the Brooklyn Nets and Westchester Knicks. I’ve interviewed NBA players such as J.R. Smith, Jimmer Fredette, Matt Bonner, Isaiah Whitehead and Dahntay Jones. I work for Today’s Fastbreak as an NBA writer and reporter while also working part-time for Bleacher Report’s social media team as a writer. For this blog, I will cover a variety of sports with a focus on men’s and women’s basketball.

Our team here is your number one source for any and every thing Seton Hall Athletics related. I am one of the contributors, my name is Christian Pierre-Louis and I’m excited to share some of my history to you.
I first knew I wanted to work in sports media when I had an opportunity to meet Tiki Barber at his book signing years ago in Freehold, New Jersey. There he spoke on how he had the help of multiple sports writers that followed him around for significant period of times and tracked what he did to aid him in the writing of his book. I then researched what exactly the responsibilities for a sports writer was and internalized it as, getting paid to watch sports. From there, I was hooked.
A senior in college at Seton Hall University, I have been sure to pick up experience in the different mediums of sports media. I work inside the Sports Information Office with SHU Athletics where I have had the opportunity to broadcast on the school’s official streaming service, the Pirate Sports Network. I am a sports broadcaster on the school’s award winning student radio station, WSOU. I have also been fortunate enough to work for The New York Football Giants Production crew and work for The Madison Square Garden Company. At MSG I work with the New York Liberty of the WNBA, as a part of the Communications Department where I assist in the development of strategies around public relations, digital, and social media plans.
I am a passionate sports fan, and so I catch just about every game I can. Being around the best sports market in the country has driven me to demand excellence out of myself and those around me. I pride myself on doing the best possible work I can and improving daily on all of the tricks of the trade.
Thank you, and again welcome aboard the S.S. Blue and White … Go Pirates!!!
